What type of finish can be used over Bona DriFast Stains?

Question:

What type of finish can be used over Bona DriFast Stains?

Answer:

Bona DriFast Stain can be coated with all of our Waterborne or Oil-Modified systems.  There's no need to abrade when applying a Bona Waterborne or Oil Modified finish as long as it has been less than 48 hours. If you can't get to the floor until after the 48 hour window, you can follow this process to prepare the floor for your next coat.  Abrade the stain with a Bona Conditioning pad. This is best achieved by hand, using the Bona Conditioning Pad on the end of a mop pole with base (attach pad to base).  You may also use a buffer.  If you use a buffer we recommend that you quickly abrade as you do not want to burn through the stain coat.  While our Bona DriFast Stains have sealing properties, applying a waterborne sealer like Bona IntenseSeal can enhance the pop of the stain and provided an additional build layer.  When using a competitive stain, be sure to perform a test for compatibility.
